I love to make things. I love making dresses, garden
parties, crocheted dog sweaters, embroidered pillowcases,
invitations, and model horse tack. I love making twig
fences, rock borders, tags for my products, photo albums,
and cozy guest rooms. I love cooking dinner for friends,
painting chandeliers, and making pretty baby presents.
I went to college to study English, then graduate school
to study creative writing, but I've always liked to
make things with my hands. In 2000, I left my job as
a book editor and started Posie: Rosy Little Things,
a one-woman studio where I create one-of-a-kind handbags,
accessories, crochet-wear, and original art. From 2003
until 2006, I co- owned , a boutique in Portland, Oregon, featuring
dozens of other unique, handmade, vintage-inspired product
lines.
I love to take photos and write daily at my blog, Posie
Gets Cozy, and I am thrilled to be writing and photographing
a book of original sewing projects called STITCHED SOUVENIRS:
MEMORY-KEEPING PROJECTS TO SEW AND SHARE, which will
be published by Potter Craft in the fall of 2008.
Though I was born and raised in River Forest, Illinois,
I now live in Portland with my husband, Nurse of the
Year Andy Paulson, R.N.; two cats; and a Cardigan Welsh
corgi puppy named Clover.
